Something aside from our usual stuff today. Many of you might be aware of the United Nations Environment Programme’s Plant for the Planet: Billion Tree campaign, for those who are not, it is one of the biggest worldwide campaigns for planting trees.
Under this campaign, people, communities, businesses and industries, as well as governments are encouraged to plant trees. The objective is planting at least a billion trees annually all over the world. The current year is significant since the UNEP has set a fresh objective of planting 7 billion trees by the end of the year.
Every individual can make a difference and if you are interested in supporting this noble effort, please visit the official web page of the campaign at http://www.unep.org/billiontreecampaign to understand it in detail. If each of us could contribute we might be able to even top the goal of seven billion trees.

A medical translation expert working with Tomedes challenged me to find a word which was like looooong but not related to medicine. Well I did find it out - FLOCCINAUCINIHILIPILIFICATION.

2009 Mother’s Day with Tomedes

Mother’s day is just a week away and I being a proud mother’s boy have already started thinking about how to make my mom feel extra special on that day. Being in the language translation business my initial thoughts are always influenced by my work 
So I thought why not make a handcrafted card with “I Love You, Mom” written in a number of languages and the last one being in the language my mom understands, which is English. I am aiming for a century and for starters I have the following in hand –
- French - Je t’aime maman
- Dutch - Ik hou van je moeder
- German - Ich liebe dich Mutter
- Hungarian - Én is szeretlek anya
- Italian - Ti amo mamma
- Polish - Kocham cię matka
- Danish - Jeg elsker dig mor
- Swedish - Jag älskar dig mamma
- Finnish - Rakastan sinua äiti
- Norwegian - Jeg elsker deg mamma
